Every rider costs their rating out of 100. The seats change with the day: lead out men on a sprint day, climbing helpers in the mountains.
Everybody races the same real day. The riders you are offered are yours alone.
Watch it through and the re-spins are yours. Close it early and they are not.
Stage Winner is a free daily game about real days from cycling history. These terms are the agreement between you and the company that runs it. They are short, and they are in plain English on purpose.
By registering a team or playing the game you agree to them. If you do not agree to them, please do not use Stage Winner.
Stage Winner is operated by Empire Concepts Pty Ltd (ACN 110 696 574, ABN 35 110 696 574), an Australian company. In these terms, we, us and our means Empire Concepts, and you means you. Our contact address is podium@stagewinner.com.
You must be 16 or older to register a team. If you are under 16 you may not register, and we will remove any account we find that belongs to someone under 16.
One person, one team. You may not register multiple teams to improve your standing, and you may not register on behalf of anybody else.
Stage Winner is a game of skill and chance played for entertainment. It is not gambling, there is nothing to buy, there is no wagering, and no money changes hands in either direction. Points earned in the game have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for anything outside the game, and can be adjusted or reset by us.
The results, ratings and race narratives are our interpretation for the purposes of a game. They are not a statement of fact about any real rider, team or race, they are not a prediction, and nothing in the game is advice of any kind.
Stage Winner refers to real riders and real racing days as historical fact. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any rider, team, race organiser or governing body, and we do not claim to be. Riders appear because of what they did in the sport, not because they have any involvement with us.
If you are a rider, or you act for one, and you would rather not appear in the game, write to podium@stagewinner.com and we will remove you.
Your team name and first name appear publicly on the leaderboard. You are responsible for what you choose. Do not use anything that:
We can remove or change a team name that breaks this rule, and we can remove a team from the leaderboard, without notice. We are not obliged to monitor what anyone chooses, and something appearing on the leaderboard does not mean we have approved it.
You agree not to:
Every race is reproducible from the team, the captain, the tactic and the day. A result we cannot reproduce will be removed from the leaderboard.
Sign in is by a single use code sent to your email address, so keep access to that address secure. Anybody who can read your email can sign in as you. Tell us straight away if you think somebody else has been using your team.
You can delete your account at any time by writing to us. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless there is a legal reason not to.
Stage Winner is free and the ordinary game has no prize. From time to time a sponsor may offer a prize or a competition. When that happens it will have its own rules published at the time, those rules will say who is running it, who is eligible and how a winner is chosen, and those rules will prevail over these terms for that competition. Nothing on this page is an offer of a prize.
Stage Winner, its name, its logo, the game design, the software, the written material, the rider and day databases and the way they are put together belong to us or to our licensors. You get a personal, revocable, non exclusive licence to play the game for your own entertainment, and nothing else.
Anything you contribute, which in practice means a team name and a first name, stays yours, and you give us permission to display it on the leaderboard and in results shared from the game.
We would like Stage Winner to be there every day, and we will make reasonable efforts to keep it running, but it is a free game. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we may change it, suspend it or stop it altogether at any time. If we decide to close it for good we will give notice in the daily email where we reasonably can.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), including the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a right cannot be excluded but our liability for it can be limited, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

You use Stage Winner because you want to. Nothing here is worth risking anything over.
You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss or cost arising from your breach of these terms, from anything unlawful you do through Stage Winner, or from a team name or first name you chose. This does not apply to anything caused by our own breach or negligence.
You can choose to watch a short advertisement in exchange for 2 extra re-spins. You never have to. Advertisements and any linked site are not ours, we do not control them and we are not responsible for them or for anything you buy from them.
How we handle your information is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will say so in the daily stage email before it takes effect, and we may ask you to agree again. The date at the bottom of this page is when it was last revised. If you keep playing after a change takes effect, the revised terms apply to you.
These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and you and we submit to the non exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria. If you are a consumer resident somewhere else, this does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory law of the place you live.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of it still stands. If we do not enforce something straight away, that does not mean we have given it up. These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Stage Winner. You may not transfer your rights under them; we may transfer ours if the game changes hands, and you would be told before it did.
Stage Winner is free to play. The deal is simple: you register a team, we send you the daily stage and the occasional word from the partners who keep it free. Everything that involves is set out below, in plain English.
This policy applies to stagewinner.com and to the emails we send you. It is written to meet the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, for players in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation.

For anything to do with your information, including a request to see it, correct it or delete it, write to podium@stagewinner.com. We answer every message from a real person, not a ticket queue.
Like any website, our servers keep short lived technical logs of requests, which can include your internet address, the rough region it maps to, your browser type and the time. We use these to keep the game running, to spot faults and to stop automated abuse of the leaderboard. They are not used to build a profile of you and they are not combined with your results for marketing.
No passwords. No payment details, ever, because nothing here is for sale. No precise location. No contact list, no photos, no access to anything else on your device. Nothing about your health, beliefs, background or anything else the law treats as sensitive information.
We do not sell your details and we never hand your email address to a partner or a sponsor. When a partner has something to say, the message comes from us, to you, and one click stops it for good.

What we show a sponsor is counts and percentages about the audience as a whole. For example, how many players are in Belgium, or what share play in French. A sponsor never sees a person, a row, a name or an address.
The leaderboard shows your team name, your first name, your country's flag, your chosen tactic and your finish. Anybody who plays the game can see it, and so can anybody you share a result with. It never shows your email address, your age bracket or your sex.
Pick a team name and a first name you are happy to have in public. You can change either of them at any time in My team, and the leaderboard updates.
We keep the number of companies involved deliberately small. We use:
Each of these processes information only on our instructions and under a written agreement, and none of them is permitted to use it for their own purposes. We are happy to name them if you ask, and we will tell you before we change one in a way that affects this policy. We do not publish the full technical detail of how the game is built, because that would help the people we are defending against, not the people we are protecting.
The only other circumstances in which your information leaves us are where the law requires it, where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim, or if the game itself were ever sold or transferred, in which case you would be told before anything moved.
Registrations and results are stored in Australia, in a private database that is not readable from your browser and not open to the public internet.
Two things can involve an overseas transfer. Our email delivery provider may process the address and message content on servers in the United States and the European Union in order to deliver it. Our advertising provider operates globally. Where information is handled outside Australia we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, and for players in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area we rely on the standard contractual clauses approved for that purpose.
The game also keeps a small note in your own browser, called local storage, so that you stay signed in on that device and can see your own past results. It never leaves your device unless you race. Clearing your browsing data removes it. We do not set a tracking cookie of our own.
We take security seriously and we would rather tell you what we actually do than make a promise nobody can keep.
No system anywhere is guaranteed against every attack, and we will not tell you otherwise. If a breach ever occurred that was likely to cause you serious harm, we would notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires, and we would tell you plainly what happened.
If you run out of re-spins you can choose to watch a short ad for 2 more. You never have to. When the ad comes from a sponsor of ours it is served by us and nothing about you is collected. When it is served by Google Ad Manager, Google may set its own cookies and collect its own information under Google's privacy policy, which is outside our control. Nothing you gave us at registration is passed to them.

Write to podium@stagewinner.com. We do not charge for any of this. We will reply within 30 days and usually a great deal faster, and we may need to confirm you control the email address before we act, which protects you rather than us.
Tell us first at podium@stagewinner.com and give us the chance to fix it. If you are still not satisfied you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area you may instead complain to your own national data protection authority.
Stage Winner is not aimed at children. You must be 16 or older to register a team. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 16, and if we find that we have, we delete it. If you are a parent and believe your child has registered, email us and we will remove it.
If we change this page in a way that matters, we will say so in the daily stage email before the change takes effect, and the date below will tell you when it was last revised. Continuing to play after that means the revised policy applies.
